Job Overview.

Job Description.

• Map out the conceptual design for a planned database in outline.
  
• Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata). 
  
• Control user access and privileges.  
  
• Database Monitoring
  
• Concept of Performance Tunning  
  
• Installation of PostgreSQL Database  
  
• Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans.
  
• Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
  
• Commission and install new applications, also customise existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose.
  
• Maintain data standards in line with the data protection act. table

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.  
  
• 3 - 5 years in IT operations with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  
• Minimum 2 years PostgreSQL/ Mongo/ Mysql Database Administration experience 
  
• Minimum of 2 years Linux Experience  
  
• Any internationally recognised Database and Linux certification will be added advantage
  
• Knowledge of Triggers, Functions and Store Procedure (Very Important)
  
• Ability to write SQL
  
• Basic Knowledge of service Management Concept
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize
